Hero Meryl Streep sang a rendition of “The Room Where It Happens” from Hamilton at the Women in the World Summit on Friday, because she is a cool celebrity. In a speech that closed the summit, Streep talked about how far women have come before breaking into the chorus of “The Room Where It Happens” with her own rewritten lyrics: “All of a sudden we’re in the room where it happens / the room where it happens / the room where it happens / Women are suddenly in the room where it happens / the room where it happens.” Watch the video above; she starts singing at 15:57. Needless to say, the audience lost their minds. “I couldn’t resist that,” she said after her mini performance. (Streep saw Hamilton last year.)
