The Original Ghostbusters Is Returning to Theaters for a Very Limited, Very Spooky Engagement

In the event Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot isn’t ghostly enough for you, Sony Pictures just pulled out a proton-pack full of good news. As reported by Variety, the original 1984 supernatural comedy will be released “in over 750 theaters across the nation on June 8 for the film’s 34th anniversary, with an encore date set for June 12” by Fathom Events, which is shared by AMC, Regal, and Cinemark Theaters. (Translation: There’s a extremely high chance it’ll be coming to a theater near you before returning to the vault.) In addition, starting June 8, Brooklyn residents will be able to participate in a three-night event hosted by BBQ Films, where a giant warehouse will be transformed into the Ghostbusters headquarters. Hipster Stay Puft Marshmallow Man ensembles are encouraged.
