Taye Diggs Is Hosting a Hypnotic Comedy Game-Show, But It’s Probably Not His Goal to Make You Very, Very Sleepy

Taye Diggs is hosting You're Back in the Room (at least, that's the working title), a new "hypnotic comedy game show," which is, of course, a style of game show we all know and love. The eight-episode, one-hour game show (whoa, that's breaking all sorts of rules), is based on a U.K. series of the same name, and will feature a resident hypnotist, the award-winning Keith Barry. We don't know exactly what he won an award for, but probably for something like, I don't know, making someone quack every time they heard the word Constantinople. The show will have a bunch of contestants who will have to complete a variety of simple, everyday tasks, such as frosting a cake or blowing up balloons. But the catch is ... they've been hypnotized. Taye Diggs, who was possibly hypnotized before signing on to host, said, “The second I saw this show I knew I needed to be a part of it. It's the most unique blend of comedy and competition I've seen in years. I’m also quite excited as this is a program I can watch and laugh at with my 6-year-old son.” Then Diggs pretended to be a chicken and dumped a bucket of ice water on his head (maybe). The series will begin production in July. The thing is, once you watch one, you have no idea whether you're being forced to watch the rest.
