From actor and first-time director Nate Parker comes the trailer for The Birth of a Nation, a period drama that received universal praise at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, scoring the biggest Sundance deal ever when it was acquired by Fox Searchlight for $17.5 million. The film stars Parker himself as Nat Turner, a slave who becomes a touring preacher and eventual leader of an infamous slave rebellion in 1831, after discovering the vast scope of slavery while traveling around the country with his master. Rounding out the cast are Armie Hammer, Gabrielle Union, Penelope Ann Miller, Jackie Earle Haley, and Aja Naomi King.
