Remember that time Neil Young said “streaming has ended for me … I don’t need my music to be devalued by the worst quality in the history of broadcasting or any other form of distribution”? It seems like a distant memory. (It was last July.) Well, major kudos to Tidal, because they’ve somehow managed to get Young to do a complete 180 about his negative views on streaming. As reported by Billboard, Young’s entire catalogue (57 albums!) is now available to exclusively stream on Tidal, both on its “standard” and “high-fidelity” options. It’s good timing, too: Young announced today that he will be releasing a new album, EARTH, in June. Maybe next time, Spotify.
