Being Mary Jane Gets The Good Wife Producer As New Showrunner


After months of searching, Being Mary Jane finally has a new showrunner. BET has scored former The Good Wife executive producer Erica Shelton Kodish to take over for the show's creator and departing showrunner Mara Brock Akil, as well as director Salim Akil. Also joining as executive producer is Will Packer, who's already an executive producer on the upcoming Roots remake and ABC's Uncle Buck. Kodish will also serve as an executive producer, as will the Akils, who signed an overall deal with Warner Bros. TV last August. After stalling production during the search, the hit show starring Gabrielle Union, which has already been renewed for a fourth season, is set to begin filming later this year in Atlanta.
