BET Drops the Mic on Madonna’s Prince Tribute

Was Madonna and Stevie Wonder's Prince tribute at this year's Billboard Music Awards not to your liking? Don't worry, BET has some Prince-worthy shade to throw on your behalf. Shortly after the show ended, BET followed up with a finale of its own in the form of a savage tweet teasing their own Prince tribute at the BET Awards next month. Simply put: "Yeah, we saw that. Don't worry. We got you." Billboard's decision to have Madonna honor Prince was originally met with controversy. (A petition was even started to stop Madonna from being the tribute's sole performer, which she wasn't.) Well, it appears this won't be the last Billboard hears about it. The BET Awards airs on June 26. Game: blouses.

Update: Questlove, who introduced the BBMAs' Prince tribute, has come to the show's defense in a series of tweets. In them he notes, "the Purple Standard is hard boots to fill."

Update No. 2: Madonna has responded on Instagram, saying, "Anyone who wants to do a tribute to Prince is welcome to. Whatever your age Gender or skin Color. If you loved him and he inspired you then show it!!!! I love Prince 4 ever." She also followed up with a cheekier post: "This is my 'I'm not your bitch don't hang your shit on me' Dance."
