Doubt, executive produced by Grey’s Anatomy’s Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, as well as Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman, has been ordered to series by CBS for the 2016–2017 season. Katherine Heigl, whose entire career has essentially been an apology tour (shading Shonda Rhimes didn’t help), plays a “smart, chic, successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm [who] starts to fall for her charismatic client who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime.” At least she isn’t playing a journalist falling in love with her subject. Laverne Cox, Elliott Gould, Dulé Hill, and Dreama Walker will also co-star.
