Movie actors really are taking up all the TV roles. FX announced today that Ewan McGregor will play two of the central characters in Fargo’s upcoming third season, brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy. Emmit is the “Parking Lot King of Minnesota,” a handsome real estate mogul and family man who sees himself as an American success story. Ray, the slightly younger brother, is a balding and pot-bellied parole officer who blames his brother for his misfortunes. McGregor is the first actor to join the new chapter of the anthology series, which will jump forward in time to 2010 and take on our “selfie-oriented culture.” Production is set to start later this year in time for a premiere in the spring of 2017. There’s no word on which of the Ewan McGregors will be more into selfies. (Probably Emmit.)
