Report: Hulu to Launch Livestreaming TV Service

Hulu is expected to announce a service for livestreaming broadcast and cable television. The company has yet to confirm, but sources told The Wall Street Journal that the service is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2017 and that prices are estimated to be around $40 a month. Hulu is following in the footsteps of similar livestreaming TV providers Sling TV and PlayStation Vue, but Hulu is looking to be more selective in which channels it provides. Walt Disney Co. and 21st Century Fox, the co-owners of Hulu, are expected to license channels including ABC, ESPN, and Disney Channel. By combining this new service with their collection of streaming movies and TV, Hulu is set to make a compelling argument for cord-cutting.
