David Letterman recently spoke out about how retiring can easily affect your self esteem, but if his appearance at this year’s Indianapolis 500 is any indication, his post–Late Show years will be nothing short of fantastic. Exhibit A: Letterman, a noted racing enthusiast, stopped by ESPN’s SportsCenter this morning for their Indy coverage at the speedway, nonchalantly stating, “By the way, I’m drunk now,” while sporting a stylish racing zip-up and his now-famous beard.
He went on to say he has every intention of faking his own death if his team doesn’t win the 500. What a guy.
