Here’s a clip from last night’s Full Frontal, where Samantha Bee breaks down the strange way the pro-life movement got started among conservative Christians in the US – a terrifying “fundamentalist faux-Fellini film festival.” Full Frontal even spoke with one of the filmmakers behind the anti-abortion scare films called Whatever Happened to the Human Race, who now calls making the film series “the single greatest regret of my life.” Despite how much the film series ended up helping figures like Jerry Falwell get more people to join the pro-life cause, Bee explains, the whole Bible/pro-life connection just doesn’t hold up: “Fine, let’s look at everything the Bible says about abortion. Oh look, there it is in the Book of Doesn’t Exist right next to the verse condemning lesbians!”
