Seeso just added a new series to its upcoming lineup. The streaming service announced today that it’s greenlit six episodes of Debate Wars, a comedy debate show moderated by Michael Ian Black that will pit teams of “comedic combatants” against each other to debate topics:
Seeso, the newly launched ad-free comedy streaming channel, has greenlit “Debate Wars,” a comedy debate show moderated by Michael Ian Black where two teams of comedians and improvisers enter the “Debatium” to settle, once and for all, the greatest arguments of all time – cats versus dogs, pie versus cake, babies versus old people – all in front of a live audience. The range of comedic combatants will include Janeane Garofalo, Judah Friedlander, Gilbert Gottfried, Eugene Mirman, Aparna Nancherla, Todd Barry, Jo Firestone, Connor Ratliff, Guy Branum, Phoebe Robinson and Dave Hill. Running analysis of the debates will be provided by commentators Brandon Scott Jones and Morgan Grace Jarrett.
“I look forward to moderating spirited debates on all manner of inconsequential subjects that are, nonetheless, of grave national importance,” Black said on the news. “Hopefully our debaters will conduct themselves with exactly the same level of maturity as our presidential candidates.” The show will tape in New York later this month from May 19-21, and tickets are currently available here.
