This fall you can spend a little time with two-time Tony winner and member of the Amy Sherman-Palladino-verse Sutton Foster, who will star in a revival of Sweet Charity set to go up at the New Group. The revival comes on the 50th anniversary of the musical, which was made into a 1969 film starring Shirley MacLaine and directed by Bob Fosse (Fosse also directed and choreographed the Broadway production). Leigh Silverman will direct the new production, while Joshua Bergasse will create new choreography. Foster will play the eternally optimistic Charity, a dancer-for-hire who ends up getting into all sorts of romantic complications with men she meets — though she never does pretend to be 15 years younger than her actual age.
