Jeffrey Tambor, Steve Buscemi Join Armando Iannucci’s Comedy About the Death of Stalin

In Soviet Russia, acclaimed political satirist casts you. That's what happened to Jeffrey Tambor and Steve Buscemi, whom Variety reports are close to signing on to The Death of Stalin, Veep creator Armando Iannucci's upcoming film about the death of Stalin. Tambor will play Georgi Malenkov, while Buscemi will bury your memories of anyone else playing Nikita Kruschev. The movie's ensemble cast also includes Timothy Dalton as Georgy Zhukov and Olga Kurylenko, Toby Kebbell, and Michael Palin in unknown roles. It's unclear if filming will start right away, or if the production is stallin'.
