Beyoncé Sings ‘Halo,’ a ‘Song About Love,’ for Families of Orlando Shooting Victims

Every night on Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour, she closes out her show with her uplifting 2008 ballad “Halo.” Her concert in Detroit on Tuesday night was no different, only she performed it for more than just the crowd sitting in front of her. Noting that the “song is about love,” she dedicated “Halo” to the families of the victims of the Orlando gay club shooting, as well as to the family of Christina Grimmie, who was fatally shot in Orlando days prior to the tragedy at Pulse. “I’d like to dedicate it to all of the family members that have family who lost their lives in Florida,” she said. Beyoncé previously offered her condolences on Instagram. Watch her introduce the song in fan-filmed footage above.
