Maya Rudolph and Martin Short’s NBC variety show Maya & Marty premiered last night, and with some help from special guests like Tom Hanks, Larry David, Jimmy Fallon, Miley Cyrus, Kate McKinnon, and Kenan Thompson, the two led what was essentially an hourlong post-finale SNL fix for fans with some musical performances mixed in throughout the show. In addition to the announced guests, Maya & Marty got some extra SNL support with cast member Beck Bennett taking on the role as the show announcer and writer Mikey Day appearing in the “War in Words” sketch along Short and Rudolph.
