Neil DeGrasse Tyson Explains the Strawberry Moon, and You Are Really Not Going to Want to Eat It After You Hear What He Has to Say

By

Look, we get it. You want to eat that pink moon. People refer to it as a “strawberry moon” and, well, the mind wanders. According to Neil deGrasse Tyson’s interview on The Late Show last night, Monday's pink-hued strawberry moon is not only not made of strawberries (!!!!!) but is in fact not that special a moon at all. Kind of a bummer, but Tyson does provide a valuable piece of information that you should know if you are still scheming to lasso the moon and serve it with a piece of shortcake. Though you have to admit that strategy has some flaws. For example, how do you tie a lasso? It’s harder than it looks on YouTube.
