Prince Be, half of the ’90s rap duo P.M. Dawn, has died of kidney failure at 46. Prince Be, born Attrell Cordes, formed P.M. Dawn with his brother Jarrett, a.k.a. DJ Minutemix, while still in high school. They earned comparisons to De La Soul, and eventually found popularity in the U.K. Their song “Set Adrift on Memory Bliss,” which features a Spandau Ballet sample, landed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1991; the song was ranked as the 81st best rap song of all time by VH1.
