Chris Evans, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Nate Parker, Rami Malek, More Celebrate Prince Day With Interpretive Spins on Classic Prince Songs

June 7 is Prince Day, or what would have been Prince’s 58th birthday. To commemorate the occasion, W magazine got a bunch of celebrities to perform some classic Prince songs, since everybody knows better than to try to match Prince at the real deal. Chris Evans finger-pointed his way through “Diamonds and Pearls”; Rami Malek and Julia Louis-Dreyfus did some very dramatic reads of “Kiss,” with Malek assuming the guise of a phone-sex operator; and Kit Harington and Cindy Crawford took on “Little Red Corvette.” (And no, no one covered “Purple Rain.”) Nate Parker, Ethan Hawke, Elle Fanning, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tye Sheridan, Melissa Benoist, and Anya Taylor-Joy also partook in the action. Check out the tributes above and below, and remember, it’s the thought that counts.
