All Eyez on Me Trailer: Tupac’s Story Gets Told on the 20th Anniversary of His Death

On the 20th anniversary of Tupac Shakur's murder, his long-overdue biopic All Eyez on Me is celebrating the legendary rapper and activist's life with a new, longer trailer. The biopic — which was reportedly delayed to November over song-licensing issues — follows Tupac from his rise in hip-hop to the 1996 drive-by shooting that killed him. Benny Boom directed All Eyez on Me, while Demetrius Shipp Jr. stars as Tupac. The newest trailer above offers a better look at Jamal Woolard as the Notorious B.I.G. (Woolard also played the role in Notorious; unified cinematic universes abound), Stefon Washington as Puff Daddy, Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries) as Jada Pinkett, and Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead) as Afeni Shakur, Tupac's late mom. Gurira narrates the first teaser, below, warning her son with some Polonius-cribbed advice: "To thine own self be true."
