Carrie Coon-heads? Carrie-aniacs? Well, fans of Vulture’s best TV actress of the year, whatever they’re called, should rejoice, as Coon will be the female lead in Fargo’s third season. Coon will play Gloria Burgle, a chief of police and “a practical woman who grabs the fire extinguisher when the bacon catches fire and everyone else panics,” which is either an elaborate metaphor, or a hint that Fargo’s going to tackle the dangers of brunch. Either way, Gloria is “struggling to understand this new world around her where people connect more intimately with their phones than the people right in front of them.” Ewan McGregor is also starring as twin brothers. Production is slated to begin later this year, giving Coon plenty of time to return from Australia, where she’s shooting The Leftovers.
