Let’s see, what’s scarier? An invisible man sleeping in your bed or “obese white men between 50 and 60 who are active Klan members or member of the Aryan Nation and there are millions of them”? In the aftermath of the out-of-control sexist and racist Twitter harassment Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones has endured, original Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd shared his thoughts on what kind of person would go out of their way to harangue a total stranger online. “These people, they’re insignificant gnats, they’re losers, they have no lives of their own, they can probably barely pay for the Wi-Fi they’re using,” Aykroyd, who executive produced the new remake, told Entertainment Tonight Canada. According to the New York Daily News, the SNL star opined, “I would say you’re looking at obese white men between 50 and 60 who are active Klan members or members of the Aryan Nation and there are millions of them.” He even went so far as to venture a guess as to who these trolls will be voting for in November. “There’s a lot of white racist hatred out there that’s going to channel into a support for the Republican ticket, maybe in the false belief that these people share their views,” Aykroyd mused. It’s like if there were millions of Slimers, and instead of dozens of hot dogs, they wanted white supremacy and absolutely no consequences for their actions.
