Back in April, Freeform announced they were developing a new comedy series from The Lonely Island, and today they gave the project a pilot order. Titled Alone Together, the half-hour pilot centers on “two overlooked millennial misfits from different backgrounds as they try to make their way into the vain and status-obsessed culture of Los Angeles only to find salvation in their male/female strictly platonic friendship,” and Esther Povitsky and Benji Aflalo will star, write, and co-executive produce. Povitsky has appeared in Lady Dynamite, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and her own Above Average web series Cocktales with Little Esther last year, while Aflalo has written for The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber and Not Safe with Nikki Glaser.
