If all your friends decided to air their comedy-news shows live during the conventions, you would too, even if your show technically wasn’t in season and also doesn’t even air during the week. Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost and Michael Che will host special editions of Weekend Update at midnight on July 20 and 27 on MSNBC, following the events of the Republican and Democratic national conventions in Cleveland and Philadelphia. The two will also serve as special correspondents for NBC’s Today on those days. Their bits should be easy to write, just say whatever was included in the party platform and add “really???”
