Netflix Renews Will Arnett Comedy ‘Flaked’ for Season Two

Will Arnett vehicle Flaked is getting a second season. Netflix announced the renewal on the show’s social media channels last night, after speculation that the LA-set comedy might not return.

Deadline’s coverage recalled the absence of Flaked from Netflix’s TCA presentation earlier this year, and despite involvement from Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret writer Mark Chappell, audience reception and critic reviews for season one were tepid (the A.V. Club called it ’dour,’ ‘clumsy,’ and ‘insufficiently arresting’).

Netflix has not confirmed the number of episodes ordered for season two (the first season ran for eight half-hour installments), so it’s possible they’ll reduce or even rework the show to help it keep pace with their better-regarded original comedies.
