That Tavi Gevinson, why does she always seem to be Russian ahead of the rest of us? Gevinson is returning to Broadway to play Anya in the Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, which will star Diane Lane as Ranevskaya. Celia Keenan-Bolger will also star as Varya, John Glover as Gaev, Harold Perrineau as Lopakhin, and Joel Grey as Firs. The Cherry Orchard will begin preview performances on September 15 and officially open for a limited engagement on October 16. The Present, another Chekhov production (an adaptation of Platonov, in this case), is also coming to Broadway with Cate Blanchett this fall. Prep the borscht.
