Zachary Quinto on Anton Yelchin’s Death: ‘Our Goal Has to Be to Celebrate His Incredible Life’

Last month, Anton Yelchin died at the young age of 27 from a freak accident involving his car. With Hollywood still reeling from the tragedy, one of his posthumous films, Star Trek Beyond, will soon be released in theaters on July 22. (Yelchin portrays prodigious Enterprise navigator Pavel Chekov.) Stopping by The Tonight Show to discuss the film, Zachary Quinto took a moment to pay tribute to his Star Trek co-star, noting that they had been filming the franchise together for nearly a decade. "Beautiful, beautiful guy. I don't even know how to talk about it. This has been absolutely devastating for all of us," Quinto said. "I think our goal has to be to celebrate his incredible life and honor him as much as we can. It's a terrible loss not only to us personally, but I think to the industry and audiences. He's such a talent." Besides Star Trek, there are four films currently in production that feature Yelchin posthumously.
