The hottest trend in music this summer, affecting everyone from twee British pop idol Ed Sheeran to rock legends Led Zeppelin, is a good old-fashioned copyright-infringement lawsuit. Now, according to TMZ, Ariana Grande is the latest to be hit with legal action. Songwriter Alex Greggs claims that Grande stole the hook and certain lyrics of Skye Stevens’s song “Takes All Night,” which Greggs wrote, for the 2014 single “One Last Time.” Greggs is reportedly suing for portions of Grande’s profits. While the lawyers settle this issue, maybe Grande should join a support group with fellow child actress turned pop star Demi Lovato — she can certainly commiserate.
