Is beatboxing an innate skill or one that can be learned? Orange Is The New Black and The Color Purple’s Danielle Brooks made a case for the latter on Conan last night. She learned to beatbox when she while trying to channel Biz Markie in the car; her driver explained that the secret to beatboxing is saying “boots and skirts” minus the vowels. The result? According to the driver, Brooks sounded like she was giving a bad blow job. Maybe some things just can’t be taught.
