CBS is re-teaming up with some familiar faces. Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, the creators of the long-running comedy How I Met Your Mother (nine seasons!), are returning to the network once again to helm a new family comedy. Inspired by the life of comedian Chris Distefano (Girl Code and Guy Code), the untitled comedy centers around “Izzy and Chris, two 20-somethings raising their newborn daughter and merging their loud families — one Puerto Rican, one Italian.” The duo is expected to pen the script and executive-produce the series — with Distefano also executive-producing and co-writing — which scored a large pilot-production commitment from CBS. We’re already eagerly awaiting the killer recurring jokes.
