Who would have guessed that John Krasinski would one day put away his floppy forelock and sardonic smile to become Tom Clancy’s famous CIA analyst? Oh, you did? Well, hopefully you put money on it, because you could be purchasing a summer home with all that John Krasinski-is-the-next-huge-action-hero money. Following his lat-filled turn in Michael Bay’s 13 Hours, the Office star has been cast in Amazon’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series as the titular international catastrophe-thwarting agent. The studio announced today that they’ve green-lit a ten episode first season about Ryan’s first field assignment, during which “he uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.” Boy, all those terrorists are going to be pretty PO’ed when they find their nuclear detonator encased in a Jell-O mold. Murderously PO’ed.
