Just months after signing her overall development deal with ABC, Kerry Washington is set to executive-produce a new drama the network is developing. “I believe strongly in the importance of having a seat at the table,” Washington said when she first announced her plans to go behind the scenes. “It’s an honor to be at a point in my career when I can help generate projects that are exciting, necessary, and truly reflect the world around us.” True to her word, the series she is now throwing her weight behind, Patrol, sounds like it will be a vehicle for more strong-women characters like the ones Washington cut her teeth playing. The series, according to Variety, is a workplace drama about four female police officers who attended police academy together and are thrown together, five years later, by a secret. Scandalous.
