Though Ryan Murphy has established that the teasers for this season of American Horror Story are a lie, FX continues to beguile us with (possible) glimpses at (possible) themes for the new season. In that regard, the latest trailer, a compilation of key visuals from the last five seasons, is something of a break. Just let your mind wander back to the days of ghost sex, and witches, and spooky carnivals — oh, wait, that’s not calming at all. Finally, we end up in an abandoned forest: Could this be a sign that we’re indeed getting a Roanoke AHS, or is it merely more misdirection? Only Ryan Murphy knows for sure.
