Anne Hathaway Loves the DC Universe, Says Anne Hathaway

While promoting her movie Colossal — you know, the one where she plays a heartbroken woman who is psychically linked to a Kaiju-esque creature tearing through South Korea — at the Toronto International Film Festival, Anne Hathaway made a special declaration of love for the DC universe. Hathaway got to don the black leather bodysuit as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, but since that wrapped up Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, she only got to take one spin as the femme fatale Selina Kyle. If Anne had her druthers, she would sew herself back into the shiny skin suit for another ride. “I loved that character and I had such a blast playing her,” Hathaway told Variety. “I think the Chris Nolan chapter of the Batman story has been wrapped up and I’m part of that, but I love the DC universe and it would be fun to take a trip back.” Do you hear that, superhero-hating critics? Anne Hathaway loves the DC universe. And even though the halfway-to-EGOT winning actress likely won’t have a chance to play the part again, she is ready to benevolently pass the cat ears on to the next lucky woman — in what is apparently some kind of line of succession ritual that Catwomen have. “You accept it and receive it from the last Catwoman,” explained Hathaway. “I was shown such generosity from Halle [Berry] and from Michelle [Pfeiffer], and so I would do that the next time as well.”
