While celebrating his annual Houston Appreciation Weekend Monday night, Drake shared a surprising announcement: His pop-up event “The Ballet” was actually a soft open for his forthcoming nightclub in the city, also called The Ballet. As Drake explained to the crowd, his club will celebrate the “culture of dancing” in Houston. “It ain’t about no strip-club shit,” he said. “It’s about these amazing women that we’ve got in one spot, this music we’ve got, this Houston culture that we got.” Drake continued the pitch on Instagram, with the panache of a natural salesman: “Treat yourself don’t cheat yourself. Where the women are on a pedestal and the surroundings are unforgettable.” That … kind of makes it sound like a strip club?
