Emma Watson on Attending Brown, Ending Sexual Violence on Campus, and ‘Expectations of Equality’

Emma Watson has devoted this year to becoming a better feminist, and she isn’t wasting any time. Earlier this year, Watson spoke with Geena Davis for Interview magazine about roles for women in Hollywood. According to EW, this week Watson delivered a speech at U.N. headquarters addressing the rise of sexual assault on campus. She began by describing her experience at Brown, and she questioned why so many universities give the message that “sexual violence isn’t actually a form of violence.” But with “expectations of equality,” Watson argued that society will change, and she insisted on equal respect, leadership, and pay.
