Jeremy Davies, the actor best known for his roles in Lost and Justified, is set to enter the pantheon of actors who have played Jesus onscreen, according to Entertainment Weekly. With his often scraggly brown hair and slight frame that could belong to a man subsisting on desert provisions, the bearded Davies is a highly appropriate choice to join the upcoming Starz series American Gods as its Jesus. Though frequently seen in fever dreams and on Sundays at church, Jesus has in the last few years most notably appeared onscreen in the forms of Ewan McGregor, Christian Bale, and Jim Caviezel in Last Days in the Desert; Mary, Mother of Jesus; and Passion of the Christ, respectively. The Son of Joseph has not yet publicly weighed in with his approval or disapproval over the choice to cast Davies, but the Starz network is very excited, as evidenced by this tweet.
