We still have a while to wait until Fantastic Beasts is released, but at least we have news about J.K. Rowling’s Cormoran Strike, a crime-drama TV series for the BBC. British actor Tom Burke has been cast to star in the series, which is based on novels written by Rowling, under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Burke recently starred in BBC’s epic War & Peace as Fedor Dolokhov and in The Musketeers as Athos. He will play Cormoran Strike, a war veteran who has become a private detective operating out of a small office in Central London. According to Variety, it will be comprised of the three-part “The Cuckoo’s Calling,” the two-part “The Silkworm,” and the two-part “Career of Evil.” Each episode lasts an hour, and they will be produced as three separate event-dramas. Rowling’s company Brontë Film & TV is set to begin filming in London this fall.
