A lot of behind-the-scenes work went into Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s performance as Edward Snowden in the new Oliver Stone film. Gordon-Levitt met Snowden, studied his handshake and demeanor, and learned a bit about current events. And then there was his work with his director. In their off time, Stone and Gordon-Levitt watched a war movie and got stoned. Oliver Stone, who directed Platoon and Born on the Fourth of July, and who also has an actual purple heart for his service, shared some war stories. Sounds terrifying.
