Aaron Sorkin will make his directorial debut with an adaptation of Molly Bloom’s poker memoir Molly’s Game, and he already has Jessica Chastain on board to star as the titular hustler. (Idris Elba will play her lawyer.) Now it looks like the similarly toothsome and statuesque Michael Cera could be joining the cast in a role simply called Player X, THR reports. Bloom is a former Olympic skiing hopeful who took up cocktail waitressing in Los Angeles after her dreams of glory were dashed, which put her in a position to organize underground poker games with Hollywood power players, as one does. Cera’s in talks to portray Player X, an unnamed celebrity who develops a “unique relationship” with Bloom. Sorkin also wrote the script and the movie is loosely scheduled to start shooting this November.
