On September 7, Passion Pit announced five East Coast tour dates they would start playing at the beginning of October. Today, those dates have been rescinded. The band addressed the cancellations on their Twitter account, saying, “my sincere apologies to everyone for pulling these shows. it has nothing to do with my health and all of that, just unpredictable schedule” and “will reschedule these shows asap and by then hopefully you’ll be able to see (or hear) why these had to be moved. really sorry. xoxo ma.” Saying “or hear” suggests the band is working on new music they couldn’t possibly have ready in time for the October shows, or perhaps they had hard drives full of new material that they decided to erase in a fit of creative insanity sometime in the past two days and are now forced to start over again. Perhaps.
