MTV’s new comedy Mary + Jane is executive produced by Deborah Kaplan, Harry Elfont, and Snoop Dogg and is unsurprisingly about two women who sell marijuana (in a mostly legal, mostly medical capacity, of course). Surprisingly, their names aren’t actually Mary and Jane, they’re Jordan (Scout Durwood) and Paige (Jessica Rothe), and in addition selling weed, the two entrepreneurs get caught in kooky shenanigans on the East Side of L.A., like at the bread restaurant you see in Vulture’s exclusive clip. If it feels like you smoked too many bowls and hallucinated the West Coast love child of High Maintenance and Broad City, it’s not the weed talking, that’s actually spot-on. The series premieres September 5.
