The Shins recently played two new songs during their recent shows in the United Kingdom, and this marks the first time they’ve played live since 2013. According to Pitchfork, they performed the new songs, called “Dead Alive” and “Rubber Balls,” at Village Underground on September 2. Earlier this month in an interview with KBOO 90.7 in Portland, front man James Mercer revealed that an upcoming album will arrive “early next year,” hopefully with a January 2017 release date.
