We'll dance all night to the best news ever: Dick Wolf, in collaboration with Zayn Malik, is set to produce a new drama series for NBC that's directly inspired by Malik's life and experiences with One Direction. Titled Boys — sorry, Lena Dunham — the show will chronicle the "formation of a hugely successful boy band" that captures "all the excitement, competition and fun, but also provides an inside look into the pressure that follows." Wolf and his wife, Noelle Wolf, helmed the project, while Sherri Cooper Landsman and Jennifer Levin are set as writers. “Dick Wolf is a legend and the opportunity to work with him and NBC to create a compelling drama series is awesome,” Malik said in a statement. No casting announcements or planned premiere dates accompanied the news. Dick, keep making NBC beautiful, because sometimes it doesn't know it.
