Another summer season ends and another batch of summer series die with the first chill of autumn. According to Variety, CBS has cancelled two of its freshman titles BrainDead and American Gothic, which both premiered last June. If you missed the series, BrainDead is a political satire that involved both alien bugs and some highly unusual “previously on” segments, while America Gothic is a show about a secret serial killer and not about that famous painting with the dreary-looking couple and their pitchfork. Neither series received high ratings, but the summer is not traditionally a good season for television numbers.
