Move Over, Bill Murray: Eddie Vedder Is Singing at the World Series Tonight

Cling to the remainder of your deep-dish pizzas and say a little prayer to the god of Wilco, Chicago Cubs fans, because as you well know by now, your team is trailing the Cleveland Indians in the World Series by a not-great 3-1. But fear not, some excellent Wrigley Field musical entertainment may soon turn those frowns upside down. The Cubs have announced that Eddie Vedder will be leading the seventh-inning stretch duties for Game 5 of the World Series this evening the Pearl Jam front man, taking over from Bill Murray’s Daffy Duck–ized performance on Friday and Vince Vaughn’s spirited rendition on Saturday, will sing the baseball favorite “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” Maybe “Even Flow” will find its way in there somehow. Who knows! That Cubbies die-hard is full of surprises!
