Leave it to the master of children’s horror to tease fans with a future treat on Halloween. During a Reddit AMA earlier this afternoon, R.L. Stine was asked if he would ever consider writing a comic book. The Goosebumps author wrote back, “I’m writing a series of comic books for Marvel — my first comics ever. But I’m not allowed to talk about them yet .” Though he didn’t hint at any other details, he did reveal that as a child his favorite reading material included spooky classic comics Tales From the Crypt and The Vault of Horror, so the odds are good that Stine is sticking with his scary wheelhouse for the series. Here’s hoping the Fever Swamp werewolf and the hamster that drank too much monster blood will eventually get their own spot in the Marvel Universe — they’d make great, hairy additions to the Defenders.
