Barb’s Fate Is Somehow Even Sadder in the ’80s 8-Bit Video-Game Version of Stranger Things

CineFix’s David and Henry Dutton have lovingly re-created the hit Netflix show Stranger Things as a faux ‘80s-style 8-bit video game, complete with teeny-tiny missions like procuring an advance on your paycheck, offering your strange new guest a wig and a waffle, or having sex with Steve. The midi version of the show’s soundtrack, specifically the Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go”? is also sublime. Somehow, despite knowing where, when, and how Barb met her untimely demise in Stranger Things, seeing Eleven stumble onto a minuscule “Dead Barbara” is even more devastating than before.
