Ah, do you feel that? The sweet, crisp breeze of artistic freedom in the air? After voluntarily ending his The Jim Gaffigan Show two seasons in as an effort to avoid becoming creatively bereft, Jim Gaffigan is stoking the flame of that fire with a trip to Fargo. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Gaffigan has joined the third season of the FX anthology as a recurring character.* He’ll play a police deputy named Donny Mashman in the 2010-set season, working alongside Carrie Coon’s chief of police, Gloria Burgle. Now let’s all hope that Gaffigan’s character does lots of cool stuff, allowing us to yell “Mashman!!” in our frattiest chug it voice, because, boy, would Mashman be a fun name for that.
